Natural Enterprises Development Limited ( NED LTD) is a company limited by guarantee that was formed and registered with the Registrar of Companies in Kampala-Uganda since July 2006 to be a platform for PROFESSIONALS who are interested in researching, innovating, modeling, providing services, training, consulting,conferencing, advocating, documenting best practices,publishing, debating, monitoring and evaluating,mentoring and coaching, and mobilizing resources for the development of critical aspects of the value chain of natural resources based enterprises in Africa..

NED LTD currently has membership of 20 professionals including investment analysts and managers, financial managers and accountants,bankers, foresters, agriculturalists,mineral experts, researchers, academicians (lecturers) educationalists,animal husbandry specialists and veterinary medicine professionals,industrial engineers, economists, political scientists, social and development experts,project management specialists,physicians and human medicine practitioners among others.

NED Professionals focus on the development and promotion of natural resources based enterprises value chains with the major aim of increasing financial returns for micro, small and medium scale investors in Africa.
The critical aspects of the value chain supported by NED Professionals include primary production or extraction of raw materials, processing and manufacturing, and marketing of natural resources based products.

Accordingly, NED Professionals engage in the following critical activites:

1-Research: NED Professionals support undergraduate and graduate students to conduct very focused research that help to inform the process of developing value chains of natural resources based enterprises. The support is provided in form of supervision, providing competent research assistants and necessary literature references, and linking to scholarships where possible. Many NED Members engage in applied research in different aspects of the natural resources based enterprises value chain with full support from both NED and its partners.

To lead in technical service provision, value addition and marketing of quality natural products produced by communities engaged in medium and small-scale natural resource based enterprise.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Carry out market analysis and studies of natural resource products undertaken by the clients and the company.
  2. Undertake investments in natural resource based enterprises
  3. Undertake marketing of natural resource based products produced by the clients and the company
  4. Carry out research and product development for natural resource based products
  5. Provide information on natural resource based products using various media channels to the clients and general public.
  6. To undertake capacity building activities on the development and management of natural enterprises and products.
  7. To undertake financial and material resource mobilisation to support clients and NED Ltd in the implementation of natural enterprises.
  8. To build strategic partnerships and networks with the relevant stakeholders involved in the natural enterprises and products.
  9. To do any other thing necessary for the achievement of the objectives of the company.
